When Emily graciously invited me to join her here, she asked: How has travel changed your life and ultimately led you home?

I imagined that it was a fairly easy blog post.

I’ve visited genuinely fascinating places and had experiences that sometimes seem unreal. I’ve called many places home, if only temporarily. As I wrestled with the question, I realized I don’t know if I’ve actually arrived home yet. After traveling and living slightly nomadic throughout my twenties, and landing up far from my family and hometown, it appears that I’m thousands of miles further from home than I would have thought I’d be.

However, I’ve learned a lot about home by leaving it.
